About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Wiring Harness Engineer to design, develop, and optimize wiring harnesses for our motorcycles. As a Wiring Harness Engineer, you will be responsible for:
-Designing wiring harnesses for complete high-performance motorcycles that have various hardware and
sensors.
-Developing 3D CAD models routing of the harness and 2D Manufacturing drawing using electrical routing
module.
-Selection of relays, timers, fuses, terminations, resistors, connectors is an important part of the Job.
-Work along with the system architect, drawing of schematics, power circuits, ground circuits for electrical
and electronics.
-Estimating the wiring harness cost based on the component and manufacturing cost.
-Having an in-depth understanding of the sample/prototype creation (crimping, cable processing,
soldering).
-CAN cable wiring creation.
-Implementing quality tools to product development.
-Working closely with internal functional stakeholders to ensure alignment of expectations and needs.
-Working closely with external suppliers to ensure design for manufacturing feedback is incorporated.
-Supporting validation/testing teams with the fixture/jig designs and testing of components.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Electronics & Communication/Mechanical or similar is required.
2+ years of experience in engineering design and product development of wiring harness and allied components.
Good understanding of different automotive standards including AIS 048, AIS 156, etc.
Good knowledge of connectors, terminals, and cables is a must.
Good understanding of electric and electronic components like contractors, relays, and connectors.
Expert in 3D-electrical routing.
Having thorough knowledge of automotive high voltage and low voltage connectors.
Having good knowledge of different wire sizes for high voltage and low voltage.
Communication (CAN/LIN) wiring knowledge
Analytical reasoning ability and experience in practical application of design tools- DRBFM/FMEA/8D.
Good understanding of geometric tolerances on 2D drawings.
Good experience in designing harness considering electrical, EMI/EMC requirements.
Good understanding of joining techniques for both metal and plastics.
Experience in analysis and optimization of components and subassemblies.
